Special Session

Special Session Introduction

Abstract: Driven by the carbon-neutral target, large-scale of distributed flexibility resources will be integrated into the distribution system, including various types of renewable energies, energy storage systems, flexible loads, energy prosumers and flexible devices. Constructing an innovative low-carbon distribution system with flexibility resources is crucial in realizing the carbon neutrality. However, the integration of large-scale flexibility resources also brings new challenges to the power supply reliability and operation control of distribution systems. Therefore, to deal with the risks caused by the flexibility resources and improve the power supply quality of low-carbon distribution systems, the issues in optimizing operation, stability analysis and advanced control of the low-carbon distribution systems should be paid major attention.
Technical Outline of the Session: Multi-energy complementarity, hybrid AC/DC distribution network, microgrid and other technologies can be used to improve the flexibility and power supply quality of the low-carbon distribution systems. In this sense, state-of-the-art research advances in high-quality power supply technologies of low-carbon distribution systems are encouraged in this special session. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Modelling of distributed flexibility resources in low-carbon distribution systems
  • Scheduling of user-side muti-energy coupled system
  • Hybrid AC/DC distribution technologies towards large-scale renewable energies
  • Reliability improvement for low-carbon distribution systems
  • Low-carbon and economic operation of source-network-load-storage interaction
  • Stability analysis and control for microgrids with flexible resources
