Special Session

Special Session Introduction

Abstract: Market equilibrium analysis is a quantitative analysis tool to verify the effectiveness of power market mechanism design. However, the power market is currently characterized by diversification of market players, diversification of trading varieties, and complexity of organizational timing, making it difficult to solve and analyze market equilibrium. On the one hand, the market participants involve four categories of generation, grid, load and energy storage, and the game process among them is difficult to be mathematically expressed. On the other hand, the multi-market environment formed by carbon market, green certificate market and other financial derivatives makes the decision-making dimension increase, which makes it difficult to solve the equilibrium. Therefore, it is very meaningful to explore the solution and analysis method of market equilibrium in multi-market environment to help the design of power market mechanism.
Rationale: Under the background of multi-market coupling, the timing frequency of each market organization is different, the risk quantification is complex, and the incomplete information factors need to be considered. These make it difficult for the equilibrium analysis. The traditional equilibrium analysis method can't balance the accuracy and speed of the solution method. Therefore, the equilibrium analysis of complex market environment has attracted the attention of scholars. This special session strongly encouraged the use of optimization acceleration and artificial intelligence technologies to meet the needs of multi-market environment equilibrium analysis. The topics of interest include (but are not limited to): equilibrium analysis of multi-market environment, design of market equilibrium solution algorithm, design of multi-market coordination mechanism, risk management and market power analysis in multi-market environment, application of data-driven method in market equilibrium analysis.
